Ferry Plaza Shopping Center
This Brownfield's project demanded extensive planning to meet a number of challenges - time constraints, urban redevelopment, Brownfield's site considerations and unsuitable soils. In the first phase of constructing the 105,000 square foot center, the Pathmark building (consisting of 63,000 square feet) had to open within four and a half months from the receipt of building permits. Yet another obstacle during this project included the uncovering of working utilities, such as combination sanitary/storm pipe and monitoring wells, from the site's prior use as a chemical manufacturer. During the construction, care had to be taken to protect the neighbor's properties including operating businesses, a shopping center and at least 15 homes.
Village Shopping Center
This center initially included a Kings Supermarket; however one month into the start of building construction, Kings sold the store to Grand Union, who required a complete set of new prints and permits. Upon receipt of the permits, only four months remained until opening day. Despite the change in the building design, Grand Union opened on time and under budget. Following the completion of Grand Union, another 55,000 square feet was completed for other regional and local retailers.
Circle Plaza Shopping Center

Winners Restaurant at the Meadowlands Complex
In 1999, Eastman Construction was contracted by the NJ Sports & Exposition Authority (NJSEA) to renovate the Winner's Club Restaurant at the Continental Arena. This large project needed to occur without disrupting the ongoing events at the Arena including NJ Devil hockey games, NJ Nets basketball games, the circus, Ice Capades, and concerts. The completed project consisted of a renovated restaurant and bar area, a private dining room, a new entranceway, and offices for the New Jersey Devils. The work required Eastman to manage deadlines that had to be compacted due to the NJ Devils playoff appearance. Finishing the project required meticulous attention to detail as craftsmen were employed to lay the detailed woodwork and marble floor.
